GatherWorks, Inc. announces the ability to download recordings of GatherPlace web and voice conferencing sessions. "The ability to download recordings is the most requested feature from our customers," said Frik Strecker, President and CEO. "We listened. Now you can provide students, customers, and employees the recordings of your online meetings, webinars and classes for offline viewing on a DVD or posted on your own web site for, example." Premium customers who create recordings of their GatherPlace Sessions can now request a download of selected files. Once the automated convert is completed, files are ready to be downloaded in a package that contains everything you need for local playback. All you need is a Flash-enabled web browser. These files can be uploaded to your own own web site. Third party tools can be used to convert the Flash Video (FLV) file to Quicktime, Windows Media or other formats. Once in Quicktime format, you are able to upload it to your Apple TV or Apple iPhone. Customers are still able to play previous recordings using the GatherPlace software. This allows playback without ever leaving a copy of the recording on the computer to prevent easy duplication of recorded content.
