The next round of entrepreneurs competing for $100,000 in prize money as part of the 2013 TechOut competition has been narrowed down to ten semi-finalists. TechOut is New Hampshire’s largest startup competition, providing half a million dollars in financing over five years to entrepreneurs with the most viable plans to develop and market new technology products or solutions. The second annual event will be held on September 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Brady Sullivan building on Southwood Drive in Nashua and will include live pitches from finalists, networking, food and beverages.
The semi-finalists for this year include: ApplyKit, Manchester, NH; Blok Box, Lebanon, NH; CranioVation, Concord, NH; FrostHub, Durham, NH; Inventioneers, Londonderry, NH; Kinetic Surface Control, Newmarket, NH; LSAT Freedom, Bedford, NH; RoundShip, Hampstead, NH; StreakMedia, Boston, MA; and UltraCell, Manchester, NH.
TechOut is a partnership between the NH High Tech Council and the abi Innovation Hub. The partnership represents a cohesive effort to grow the state’s tech ecosystem. The competition is open to startups that have been in business for fewer than three years, raised less than $250,000 in funding and have less than $250,000 in revenue. The competition awards $100,000 in prize money each year: first place receives $50,000, second place $30,000 and third place $20,000. The field will be further narrowed to finalists prior to the event. A panel of judges will then select the first and second place winner, while the third place finisher will be decided entirely by the audience the night of the event.
The presenting sponsor of the 2013 TechOut competition is Borealis Ventures, with additional sponsorships from Brady Sullivan Properties; Dyn; FairPoint Communications; Dunn Rush & Co; Cook, Little, Rosenblatt & Manson; BerryDunn; Delta Dental; and the Holloway Automotive Group.
