Make a Difference in the Life of a High School Girl at New Hampshire’s Girls Technology Day 2017
Remember that famous question as a child, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Our answers were likely colorful, creative – even out-of-the-box, ranging from the practical to the silly, when endless confidence spilled out of us.
Flash-forward a few years later and young women who are now freshmen and sophomores in high school are starting to weigh this question more carefully, as they start to connect with fields that resonate with them and explore future career paths down the road.
The NH Department of Education in partnership with the Community College System of New Hampshire is searching for business professionals to mentor young women to help provide early exposure to STEM fields.
Just a few hours of your time is all it takes to encourage and empower a potential young STEM professional right here in your own backyard. Share your career pathway and professional expertise and see who you may inspire!
Volunteers are needed for the following two dates/locations from 8am to 1:15 pm:
Tuesday, March 14, NHTI- Concord’s Community College, Concord
Thursday, March 16, University of New Hampshire, Durham
